HF\/E Professional Organizations<\/h2>\n

Most of these organizations offer very inexpensive Student membership dues. You usually get a publication or so, discounts on annual conferences, and it’s a great way to network with others who share your professional interests!<\/p>\n

American Psychological Association (APA) <\/a>– The main APA site.<\/p>\n

APA Division 19<\/a> – APA’s division for Military Psychology<\/p>\n

APA Division 21<\/a> – APA’s division for Engineering Psychology<\/p>\n

Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES) <\/a>– This is the main organization that our Student Chapter belongs to.<\/p>\n

Human Performance in Extreme Environments (HPEE) <\/a>– An interdisciplinary forum for researchers, scientists, and professionals with expertise in the area of human performance and behavior in complex and high-stress environments.<\/p>\n

ACM <\/a>– The Association for Computing Machinery<\/p>\n

SIG CHI <\/a>– A Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) <\/a>, which focuses on Computer Human Interaction.<\/p>\n

Society for Technical Communication (STC) <\/a>– This is for technical writers\/communicators, focusing on making documents and instructions more user-friendly.<\/p>\n

Usability Professionals Association (UPA)<\/a> – Promotes user-centered design.<\/p>\n
