Requirements

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• At least two semesters remaining prior to graduation at the time of application
• 60 completed overall credit hours
• 12 completed upper division credit hours
• 3.4 or higher UCF or overall GPA

All student applicants must also identify a faculty thesis chair from their declared major prior to submitting applications.

Application Deadlines:

Applications for the Honors Undergraduate Thesis program must be obtained from the Office of Honors Research, which is located in Trevor Colbourn Hall, suite 248. Specific deadlines for the HUT program can be found here.

All materials must be delivered to Trevor Colbourn Hall, suite 248 by 5:00 PM on these dates.

Completion Requirements:

Psychology students pursuing a HUT must meet the following requirements, in addition to the minimum eligibility requirements, in order to successfully complete the program.

  • Earn an overall UCF GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • All grades in psychology courses must be a B (3.0) or higher
  • Have a psychology GPA above 3.5, based on at least 11 credits, including the following courses:
    • PSY 3213C-Research Methods in Psychology (4 credit hours)
    • PSY 4903H-Honors Directed Reading (3 credit hours)
    • PSY 4970H-Undergraduate Honors Thesis (3 credit hours)
