The study will include seniors with memory impairments and those free of cognitive impairments from <em><strong>diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds<\/strong><\/em>. The results of this study will be used to identify predictors of fraud, and inform interventions for reducing elder fraud.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">This project is supported by the Florida Department of Health and conducted by Dr. Nichole Lighthall at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Participants will be asked to complete mental tasks and surveys in our lab at UCF (Orlando, FL). The study will include two sessions. Each study session will take ~4-5 hours to complete. Eligible participants will be offered the opportunity to join additional paid study components, including non-invasive brain imaging. Participants will receive compensation ($100 first session, $125 second session). The study will involve computer tasks and thinking games conducted in our lab at UCF (Orlando, FL) it will take ~4-5 hours to complete a single study session. Compensation will be provided ($100 session). <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">Candidates must speak English fluently and have at least an 8th grade education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>AGING RESEARCH PARTICIPANT POOL<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Adults of any age may also join the<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/psychology\/llrn\/\">UCF Learning &amp; Longevity Research Network (LLRN)<\/a> <span style=\"color: #000000\">participant pool.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The UCF LLRN seeks to improve human lives across adulthood. We do this through targeted research on cognition, emotion, and physical health in aging. Researchers in the LLRN are UCF faculty and students from a diverse group of disciplines, so we can each bring unique strengths to the study of aging. Our projects often involve collaborations across traditional disciplinary boundaries, since this is where the greatest discoveries will likely be found!
