Computers in Human Behavior<\/em><\/a>, AD&D Lab Ph.D. student, Xiaoqing Wan, Dr. Lighthall and UCF Clinical Psychology colleague, Dr. Daniel Paulson, show that subjective health stands out among self-perception measures as a robust predictor of Internet use in older adults.<\/p>\nOf particular importance, the study’s findings revealed that subjective health declines among older adults predicted the discontinuation of Internet use over eight years. These results suggest that older adults who most need telehealth may experience the greatest barriers to accessing it, and effective interventions to provide Internet-based services to older adults should consider accommodations for those with poor subjective health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
