Jazmyn Donovan, a 3rd year graduate student, presented her research on the theoretical implications of how performance and stress are effected by background music in a visual vigilance task. Examining the overload and underload hypotheses by manipulating the complexity of background noise heard during the vigil, the study found partial support for the overload hypothesis through differences in response time and temporal demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
