For Undergraduate students –

The OVERALL GPA requirements for UCF Orlando Psi Chi:

SOPHOMORE (36-60 credit hours) – 3.688

JUNIOR (61-90 credit hours) – 3.556

SENIOR (91+ credit hours) – 3.547

The PSYCHOLOGY GPA requirement: 3.0

Overall credit requirements:

  • have completed at least 3 semesters or equivalent of full-time college coursework at any institution
  • have completed at least 9 semester credit hours or equivalent of psychology courses

For transfers:

  • If the new institution transfers both credits and grades: follow the same requirements
  • If the new institution transfers credits but not grades: complete at least 12 semester credit hours and 9 psychology credit hours or equivalent at UCF

Full Time:

Spring/Fall- 12 or more credit hours

Summer- 6 or more credit hours

For Graduate students –

● Be accepted into and enrolled in a psychology or closely related graduate program

● Have completed at least 9 semester credit hours of graduate psychology courses in that program

● Have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 in all graduate courses including psychology courses

● Meet your graduate program’s requirements (e.g., if specific courses require an A or B, students must meet those requirements even if their cumulative GPA is above 3.0)

After checking for eligibility, follow these steps to apply:

  • APPLY on https://www.psichi.org/
  • EMAIL ucfpsichi@gmail.com proof of your submitted application to the Psi Chi website by saving it as a .pdf or printing and scanning it as a .pdf.
  • AFTER submitting proof of application, email Matthew.Chin@ucf.edu a .pdf version of your UCF degree audit
  • AFTER receiving an acceptance email from the Psi Chi gmail, pay a $55 Psi Chi Organization fee to the International Psi Chi website
  • THEN, pay a $20 fee for the Local Chapter dues through UCF Psi Chi’s Cash App (found in our Linktree on Instagram)

Due to the current situation, Psi Chi will only be accepting payments via debit card for the lifetime membership fee, which is $55. Once the materials listed above have been approved by a Psi Chi Officer, you will receive an email with a fee invoice. Once you pay UCF Psi Chi’s local chapter dues through Cash App, we will send you an email from the Psi Chi Officers to confirm your application submission and acceptance into UCF’s Psi Chi Chapter.

Following the application deadline, dues will be sent off to the Psi Chi Organization and you will receive an email from them confirming your acceptance to the national organization.
