Our Research

Research at TAL is encompasses a wide range of fields, primarily including human factors psychology, cognitive psychology, modeling and simulation, psychometrics, computer science, aging sciences, and anthropology. Although this list is not exhaustive, our research focuses on the following:

User Research

Usability, acceptance of technology, privacy and trust, user experience, etc. Although our research focus is with individuals 65 years of age and older, a large portion of our research looks at users 18+.

Social Robotics

Human-robot interaction and user-experience (UX) research looking at user acceptance of robotics, as well as their use as an intervention for loneliness.

Social Perception

Combining motion-capture and point light stimuli techniques, we are exploring social perception across the lifespan.

Loneliness

Lived experiences, mental and physical health, social cognition, and more among those experiencing loneliness.
