Shannon Whitten is a highly experienced academic with a deep interest in the crossroads of psychology and art. She earned her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Memphis in 2003. She’s been a committed faculty member at the University of Central Florida for over 20 years, where she’s now a Senior Lecturer. Shannon’s academic journey led her to write “Psychology, Art, and Creativity<\/a>” in 2023, a book exploring the intricate connection between human psychology and artistic creation. Currently, she is working with the UCF Global Study Abroad program<\/a>, teaching her Psychology of Art course in Barcelona, Spain. She served as Vice President and is currently the Secretary of IGEL, The International Society for the Empirical Study of Literature<\/a>. Her work continually highlights the important links between psychology and the arts.
