However, it\u2019s a good idea to frequently ensure your contact information is up-to-date. To do so:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.getrave.com\/login\/ucf\">www.getrave.com\/login\/ucf<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Log in using your NID and password<\/li>\n<li>On the \u201cMy Account\u201d tab, verify the information including your e-mail address and mobile phone number<\/li>\n<li>Your UCF email address is listed by default; to add an additional email address, click the \u201cAdd\u201d button<\/li>\n<li>To edit your mobile phone number, click the \u201cEdit\u201d icon and follow all prompts for mobile phone verification<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that you have an emergency contact identified<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Evacuation\/Emergency Plan<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Every unit\/department should establish evacuation\/emergency plans.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle\">\n<li>Know your primary and secondary evacuation locations.<\/li>\n<li>Take responsibility for any students or guests that may be in your presence or in your classroom.<\/li>\n<li>Identify your building\u2019s \u201carea of refuge\u201d location. Let your building liaison know if anyone in your area is permanently or temporarily disabled in such a way that they may need assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Anyone with mobility issues is to be guided to the nearest \u201carea of refuge\u201d location: This is normally a stairwell landing. They should stay against the far side of the landing and wait for help to arrive. This will allow for others to continue the evacuation. Safety Team designees need to be informed of anyone with mobility issues and to which stairwell they were directed. If anyone is unaccounted for, designee(s) should report that information to the authorities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3356\" src=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/03\/Emergency-Collage-1024x356.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"356\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/03\/Emergency-Collage-1024x356.png 1024w, https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/03\/Emergency-Collage-300x104.png 300w, https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/03\/Emergency-Collage-768x267.png 768w, https:\/\/sciences.ucf.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2018\/03\/Emergency-Collage-250x87.png 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fire: Evacuate<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Fire Prevention Specialist for UCF is Carl Jackson, Environmental Health and Safety (EH&amp;S) &#8211;<a href=\"mailto:Carl.Jackson@ucf.edu\">Carl.Jackson@ucf.edu<\/a> &#8211; (407) 823-2314<br \/>\nA Fire Drill will be conducted annually, or as required, and will be coordinated between EH&amp;S, the Building Liaison and Safety Teams, where present.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shut doors as you exit.<\/li>\n<li>Evacuate: Go to your nearest meeting location that is a minimum of 400 feet away from the building.<\/li>\n<li>A head count should be taken at the meeting location<\/li>\n<li>Fire Extinguisher Training is offered by EH&amp;S for free to UCF employees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tornado\/Severe Weather: Take Shelter<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take shelter wherever you are.<\/li>\n<li>Keep all doors closed.<\/li>\n<li>Stay away from windows and exterior rooms of building, relocate to an interior room.<\/li>\n<li>If in a modular\/portable building, relocate to a permanent facility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Hurricane\/Tropical Storm: Campus Closing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">Check the UCF Website (<\/span><a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;font-size: 1rem\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ucf.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.ucf.edu<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem\">) and your phone\/email for updates, campus closings will be announced.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Campus closings will be specific to the affected areas \u2013 consider regional campus locations.<\/li>\n<li>If a hurricane watch is in effect, secure any sensitive records or technology.<br \/>\nConsider special preparations for research labs and equipment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bomb Threat\/Suspicious Package: Respond and Evacuate if necessary<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not pull any emergency alarm; turn off and do not use a cell phone (an explosive device may be triggered based on cell signal).<\/li>\n<li>Any threat should be taken seriously and reported<\/li>\n<li>Evacuate if instructed by the Building Liaison or authorities.<\/li>\n<li>Leave doors open as you exit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Hostile\/Armed Intruder: Escape or Take Shelter<\/strong><br \/>\nSafety &amp; Security, Active Assailant Training can be scheduled through UCF PD<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Silence your cell phone (mute, not vibrate).<\/li>\n<li>Do not pull any emergency alarm.<\/li>\n<li>Go to locations that are to be safe rooms (locking door or doors).<\/li>\n<li>Lock all external doors, (if possible) shut blinds, silence cell phones, and (if possible) call for assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To hold an active-shooter drill, first notify Jennifer Steele, <a href=\"mailto:Jennifer.Steele@ucf.edu\">Jennifer.Steele@ucf.edu<\/a> (Manager, COS facilities).
