The Sociology curriculum emphasizes critical examination of various components of society. The curriculum increases students’ social awareness and their ability to employ a sociological perspective to interpret social institutions and behavior.
Sociology includes the study of interpersonal interactions, groups, organizations, and societies through the application of theoretical approaches and the use of qualitative and quantitative methods. Students will be better prepared for careers in any field by being trained in critical thinking and analytical skills, and by being familiar with theoretical and methodological tools for the study of peoples, groups, and organizations.
UCF Sociology offers degrees in B.A., M.A. in Applied Sociology and Ph.D. in Sociology.
