Students examine contemporary issues including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, digital media, cyberwarfare, scientific innovation, ethics, and inequality.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<div development<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate the ethical and policy implications of emerging technologies<\/li>\n<li>Apply interdisciplinary perspectives from sociology, history, philosophy, anthropology, political science, psychology, and communication<\/li>\n<li>Communicate complex technology-related issues clearly across academic and public audiences<\/li>\n<li>Critically engage with questions of power, inequality, global diversity, and representation in science and technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"heading-underline\" style=\"margin-top: 40px\">Additional Program Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>No foreign language requirement<\/li>\n<li>No credit by examination, including TSD or military credit<\/li>\n<li>Internship, Independent Study, and Independent Research credits may not be applied to the certificate<\/li>\n<li>At least 12 of the 15 credit hours must be earned at UCF<\/li>\n<li>Course substitutions require approval from the Department of Sociology
