After completing my undergraduate work, I moved on to gain my MA from Hope International University in Christian Studies. After working in the education and ministry fields, I returned to school to work towards my PHD in sociology. My current research interests are in race and ethnicity and popular culture, with a focus on authenticity in nerd spaces amongst Black Comic book nerds, or &#8220;Blerds&#8221;.
