Dr. Kristy Lewis is a quantitative and applied marine ecologist aiming to understand how natural and anthropogenic perturbations in aquatic ecosystems impact fish communities and how humans interact with these changes.

She investigates variability in marine and estuarine food webs for various resource users so that these ecosystems may be conserved in perpetuity. Specifically, her work explores the impacts of disturbances (such as habitat loss, oil spills, and climate change) on fish communities and humans using coastal resources using various ecological, statistical, and geospatial modeling techniques.
