Zach is originally from Navarre, Florida, near Pensacola, FL. He is an undergraduate student expecting to receive a B.S. in General Biology in August 2023. His research interests involve obtaining dietary data from Common Snook, Red Drum, Spotted Seatrout, and potentially other fish species in the future, that live in the Indian River Lagoon, FL. The prey is classified to the lowest, possible taxonomic level to determine if there is any dietary overlap, indicating potential competition.

Zach received the Judges’ Poster Award from the Student Scholar Symposium in March 2022 and the People’s Choice Award in March 2023. He aims to become a veterinarian and will be attending Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, hoping to practice research on aquatic species. A hobby of his is growing various species of carnivorous plants.
