ACTIVE STUDIES
Misinformation and Exploitation in Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease
This project is seeking participants from ages 65-90 years old to join a paid study that will examine risk factors for deception and exploitation. The study will include seniors with memory impairments and those free of cognitive impairments from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. The results of this study will be used to identify predictors of fraud and inform interventions for reducing elder fraud.
This project is supported by the Florida Department of Health and conducted by Dr. Nichole Lighthall at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Participants will be asked to complete mental tasks and surveys in our lab at UCF (Orlando, FL). The study will include two sessions. Each study session will take ~4-5 hours to complete. Eligible participants will be offered the opportunity to join additional paid study components, including non-invasive brain imaging. Participants will receive compensation ($100 first session, $125 second session). Candidates must speak English fluently and have at least 8th grade education
Deciding Brains
This project is seeking participants from ages 20 to 100+ years old from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds to join a paid study that will examine how people make trust-related decisions in across adulthood. The study will involve computer tasks and thinking games conducted in our lab at UCF (Orlando, FL) at will take ~4-5 hours to complete in a single study session. Compensation will be provided ($100 session). Candidates must speak English fluently and have at least 8th grade education.
