Ian Silver-Gorges received his B.S. in Biology from Oberlin College (’16), M.Sc. in Biology from Purdue University (’19; population genetics of olive ridley [Lepidochelys olivacea] sea turtles), and PhD from Florida State University in Biological Oceanography (’23; ecological connectivity of loggerhead sea turtles [Caretta caretta]). Ian’s work has been largely transdisciplinary, with deeper focus on stable isotope ecology and population genetics/-omics. Ian will be studying synergy between stress and disease in green sea turtles [Chelonia mydas] in the Gulf of Mexico during an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship with the Savage Lab.
