In July 2026, members of the Gaither Lab attended the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists (JMIH) in New Orleans. Kathryn Greiner-Ferris and Emily Farrell both gave awesome presentations! Kathryn won the Stoye Best Oral Presentation at JMIH on her work exploring epigenetics and population connectivity in Syngnathidae! Congrats!

In February 2024, graduate students from the Gaither Lab attended the Indian River Lagoon Symposium in Fort Pierce, FL. PhD Candidate Michelle Shaffer won the Outstanding Student Presentation Award for her talk titled “Evaluating Ecological Community Structure over Long Time Scales in the Northern Indian River Lagoon, FL.” Great job Michelle!
