We are delighted by the enthusiasm and participation from across the STEM education community for our second annual workshop in Summer 2026.
The 2026 ESTELA workshop sessions will continue to explore cutting-edge strategies for using generative AI to build STEM problem banks, enhance student study skills, and support mastery in chemistry, physics, math, and more.
📍Location: Union West Building, UCF/Valencia Downtown Campus, 601 W Livingston St, Orlando, FL 32801
📌Faculty, staff, and students who participate will:
- Learn how AI can generate isomorphic and adaptive problems for concept mastery
- Explore best practices for using tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, WolframAlpha, and other AI tutors for use in the classroom and beyond
- Develop simple prompts to scaffold AI-generated assessments
- Explore real faculty examples
- Hear student perspectives on academic AI use by students and instructors
- Leave with a starter bank of curated, editable AI-generated questions in your field

Rewind to the 2025 workshop: The Inaugural ESTELA Workshop was hosted in June 2025
If you missed the 2025 session, don’t worry—all future summer workshops will cover basics in a preliminary Intro to AI session on Day 1, with later talks and hands-on AI lab sessions on Days 2-3 for developing familiarity with more advanced AI content!
