Research Interests

Dr. Katiuscia Teixeira is a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Florida. Her research interests revolve around the generation of knowledge on the processes of teaching and learning mathematics for STEM students. Specifically, her research has been primarily dedicated to two interconnected avenues within the field of math education: synthesis and evaluation of designed teaching strategies and new approaches to mathematics theorems. In the first scope, she investigates the impact of innovative teaching strategies on students’ learning outcomes and engagement. Her research in the second area focuses on developing novel insights into the proofs of important mathematical theorems that are typically beyond the scope of undergraduate students aimed to contribute to the advancement of mathematical knowledge.

Dr. Katiuscia Teixeira has been funded by the National Sciences Foundation under the grants REU Site: Research Experience for Undergraduates in Applied and Computational Mathematics (PI) and IUSE: Personalized Adaptive Learning in Undergraduate Mathematics: A Meta-Analysis (Co-PI).
