As the capstone to his Summer Undergrad Research Fellowship, Trenton Lam presented at the UCF Summer Research Poster Showcase. Trenton’s summer project examined how trust-related behavior with new social partners is shaped by past betrayals of trust using a multi-round version of the Trust Game. His results showed that those who reported previous trust betrayals invested less in their game partners, but this difference was only observed for partners with trustworthy appearance and behavior.
Trenton’s work highlights the negative impact of trust betrayals on the development of new relationships with trustworthy social partners. He will be following up on this work in his upcoming Honors Thesis project. Well done, Trenton!
