Undergraduate Alumni:

Giovanna Alves B.S. graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Psychology and minored in Crime,Law and Deviance. She was head research assistant at the Technology and Aging lab. She is working on the relationship between criminal television shows and viewers’ forensic knowledge for her Honors in the Major research. She explored differences in social presence in lonely adults and examining effects on different break types on cognitive performance.

 

 

 

Bijita Devkota B.S.

Charlotte Payne is a second-year student in St. Louis University’s clinical psychology doctoral program. She has a broad interest in neuropsychology in adult and older adult populations. Charlotte’s current research interests focus on outcomes of neuropsychological evaluations and the role of insurance status on health outcomes and access to care.

 

 

 

 

Holly Winters is a senior majoring in psychology and earning a certificate in criminal profiling. She is currently researching and assisting with projects related to loneliness and social robotics. She is looking forward to attending graduate school for mental health counseling.

 

Dishanki Savlais a Senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Statistics. She is currently a sub investigator for a project that measures the relationship between loneliness and participants’ perception of virtual conversations. She is looking forward to go to graduate school for a Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology.

Kendahl Krause is a senior undergraduate in the Psychology program and is completing two minors in Cognitive Sciences and Dance. She is the head research assistant in the Technology and Aging Lab. Currently, she is working on an Honors in the Major thesis that explores the relationship between dance expertise and the perception of emotions through movement.

 

Sean Hinkle B.S. Graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in psychology with minors in computer science. He is co-authored a paper on social presence and it’s applications to HRI, as well as assisted with projects related to loneliness, HRI, and usability. He is currently a Doctoral student at the University of Central Florida’s Cognitive Psychology program.

 

 

 

Jordyn Hollander B.S.  graduated the University of   a junio in biomedical sciences with a minor in psychology. She is hoping to go to medical school in the future to become a pediatric doctor.

 

Bahia Mohd is a junior majoring in biomedical sciences with a minor in psychology. She is currently researching and assisting with projects related to social presence as well as loneliness. She is in the works of starting her own research in the Technology and Aging lab soon. Bahia’s future goal is to attend dental school to become a dentist.

 

Allen Hagen is an aspiring graduate student, aiming for a PhD in clinical psychology. He has been in the lab since May 2019. His interests involve health psychology, and he is currently working on his Honors in the Major Thesis, which attempts to investigate history of involvement in combat sports and severity of subtypes of psychopathy.

Kaitlin Higby B.S.  graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology. She is interested in research related to cognitive psychology and has assisted with projects involving social networks and loneliness. After graduation, she plans on going to graduate school and becoming a speech-language pathologist.

Daniela Zapata-Ocampo, B.S. graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and was with the TAL for three years.  She is currently attending medical school at Javeriana Cali University.

Baotran Ho, B.S. graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and was with the TAL for four years.  She will start medical school at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fall 2018.

Victoria Pineda, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.  She was with the TAL for 1.5 years, and she is currently pursuing law school.

Kayla Mota, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Statistics from the University of Central Florida.  She was with the TAL for one year and was Head RA for that time.  She continues to do personal neuroscience research into the effects of music and cognitive processes.  Kayla aims to complete a cognitive psychology or neuroscience Ph.D. program.

Wyatt Kinner, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and was a research assistant in the TAL for one year.  He plans to complete a clinical psychology Ph.D. program.

Tamara Phillips, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, and was an RA for one year.  She will be starting the counseling psychology master’s program at UCF in Fall 2018.

Melissa Dabydeen, B.S.,M.S graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Cognitive Sciences from the University of Central Florida.  She was with the TAL for one year and was Head RA during that time. She is a recent graduate from the University of South Florida with her Master’s in Social Work. Presently, she works at Morton Plant Hospital as a Social Worker. Her research interests include human behavior and analysis of trauma.

 

 

 

Tala Helbaoui, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Business from the University of Central Florida.  She was with the lab for one year, and she is continuing her professional career in Dubai.

Asmita Devkota, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Central Florida in 2017.  She was with our lab for two years and worked on preliminary research dealing with alarm fatigue in nursing environments.  She also completed research for studying nursing attitudes towards child abuse in her Honors in the Major thesis.  She is currently working as a nurse in Florida Hospital and is continuing her post-baccalaureate education.

Richard SweetmanB.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.  During his two years in the TAL, he conducted research in cognitive restoration in video games.  He is pursuing computer science interests.

Alejandra Sosa, B.S. graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, minors in Finance and Medical Anthropology, and a graduate certificate in Global Health from the University of Alabama.  She was with our lab for three years, and she is currently applying to medical school.

Gabbi Simon, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a master’s degree in General Theoretic Psychology with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Eastern Carolina University.  She was with our lab for three years.

James Kozachuk, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.  He is currently working at PlayVS in California.

Nicole Chudy, B.S. graduated suma cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2017 form the University of Central Florida.  She was with our lab for two years, where she conducted research on the suitability of consumed fitness bands for stress measurements in psychology studies in Honors in the Major.  Nicole has interests in Human Factors.

Johanna Potter, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a minor in Writing and Rhetoric, and a graduate certificate in Cognitive Sciences.  She is currently working in senior living and plans on pursuing a clinical psychology Ph.D. degree.

katyKaty Odette, B.S. graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s in Modeling and Simulation program at University of Central Florida, and she is currently doing a Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation. Katy’s research interests include 3D user interfaces for games and simulations, intelligent robot security systems, and human-systems integration of brain-computer interfaces.
