Meet the Speakers
Allen Naidoo, PhD
Dr. Allen Naidoo joined Guidewell in June of 2014. He held chief executive analytic roles at Carolinas Healthcare System in Charlotte for 2 years, Independent Health in New York for 3 years, and with the BlueCross and BlueShield System in both Ohio and Tennessee for 15 years. Currently, he is the Chief Analytic Officer for the Guidewell enterprise. In this role, Allen is accountable for enterprise wide data management and analytics, and leads more than 120 people in an analytic competency center that helps measure, evaluate and improve the quality, safety, effectiveness and cost of care received by Guidewell members and patients.
He received his PhD in Biostatistics and Community Health from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Dr. Naidoo was also an associate professor of mathematics at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. His empirical research has emphasized predictive modeling, performance measurement at the provider and patient level, and in particular, has focused on primary care quality and efficiency.
Dr. Tom R. Bohannon
Dr. Tom R. Bohannon is an analytical consultant for SAS Institute specializing in applying analytical methods to business problems in industry and higher education. After retiring from Baylor University in 2007 he served also as a visiting professor in the statistics department at Texas A&M University. Before retiring from Baylor University in April of 2007, Bohannon was Director and Assistant Vice President for the Office of Institutional Research and Testing for twenty years. Prior to joining Baylor University, Bohannon spent ten years at Appalachian State University as an Associate Professor of mathematics and statistics, as the University Statistical Consultant, and as Director of Institutional Research. Dr. Bohannon has spent nearly 30 years in the institutional research field specializing in application of statistical methods to business problems in higher education. These applications include overseeing construction of data warehouses for Baylor University and applying data mining methods to enrollment management, retention, and fund raising.
Dr. Bohannon earned a PhD in Statistics from Texas A & M University in 1976 and an MA in Mathematics from Wake Forest University in 1965. He also holds a BS in Mathematics with a Physics Minor from McNeese State University.
Arthur “Arby” Engelman
Arthur “Arby” Engelman is the Director or Consumer Credit Risk for World Omni Financial Corporation in Deerfield Beach, Florida. World Omni is one of the three major business units of JM Family Enterprises, and their primary function is to serve as the captive finance company for Southeast Toyota dealers (consumer retail/lease and commercial lending) and provider of third-party servicing to companies in the finance industry. He received his B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University, and his M.S. in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has spent his entire 16 year professional career at World Omni providing analytical solutions for originations, portfolio performance, and collection prioritization. His background is in the areas of predictive analytics, classification analytics, and time series forecasting. Arby currently enjoys playing sports with his two sons, Ethan (8), and Jayse (5). He was a college cheerleader, and grew up in Miami Beach playing competitive amateur Jai Alai.
Kimberly Cooper
Wenbo Wu
Wenbo Wu currently is a fifth year PhD candidate in statistics at the University of Georgia. His research interests include sufficient dimension reduction for high dimensional data, variable selection, multivariate analysis, data mining and financial statistics. He obtained his master’s degree in statistics from the University of Central Florida. With strong interests in data mining and analytics, he was the winner of SAS Analytics Shootout in 2014. He has previously worked as a fulltime employee or an internship at Legend Group, Disney, and Dow AgroSciences.
Jun Han
Jun Han has drawn across multiple industrial analytic areas in US, including Healthcare Informatics; Consumer Credit Scoring; Insurance/Multi-Industry Fraud Detection. He provides quality and agile quantitative support in different segments of corporate operation, such as Production Development, Sales Support, Data Acquisition, Skill Tutoring, International Business, Platform Migration, and Compliance. Jun Han graduated in 2012 with an MS in Data Mining from University of Central Florida. Before pursuing education in US, Jun was one of China’s first generation industrial modelers in Data Mining Center of Xiamen University, China. In 2011, he led a 7 members’ team to win 1st place at 2011 SAS Data Mining Shootout Competition, which is for predicting future hospitalization of 23 diseases in 800 plus areas via historical weather data. His specialties are in the areas of predictive modeling, data processing automation and high-performance computing platform.
Hong Zhang
Hong Zhang has been served as Business Strategy Analyst for Orlando Magic since July 2013. She is responsible for ticket pricing and yield management, data driven advanced analytics for all other revenue generation departments in Magic and online research. Before she joined the Magic, she has also worked as a senior engineer in Europe.
She received her bachelor’s degree in China in 2005 with the major of Management Engineering and got her first master degree of Industrial Engineering in Italy in 2008. She graduated from University of Central Florida with her second master in Statistics, Data Mining track in 2013. She has earned three SAS certificates with SAS Base Programmer, SAS Advanced Programmer and Predictive Modeler using SAS Enterprise Miner during her study in UCF and received the ‘PAUL S.OLMSTEAD AWARD’ from her department . She and her teammates have also won the national champion of the 2012 Analytics Data Mining Shootout competition hold by SAS.
She currently lives in Orlando, with her husband Donny, and son, Eric.

Jin Su
Jin Su is currently a VP, Consumer Product Strategic Analyst IV at Bank of America. She has over seven years of experience in developing predictive models and segmentation schemes. Her areas of expertise include marketing analytics, credit risk analytics, and analytic data mart design. Jin Su received her Master’s in Statistics (Data Mining track) from University of Central Florida and her MBA from University of Florida.
Amber Miller
Amber Miller graduated from UCF in May of 2013 with her Master of Science degree in Statistical Computing, Data Mining Track. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics and a minor in Business Administration.
She is currently a Senior Financial Analyst and works as a member of the analytics team at MicroBilt Corporation. They develop and manage products for the alternative financing and short term lending space. Their products provide risk management through bank verification, credit scoring, and preventative fraud screening. They regularly test their data against prospect and client portfolios and provide underwriting recommendations utilizing their products to mitigate risk and lower default rates for the company.
