Two Hoffman Lab undergraduates, Shelly Gaynor and Bridget Vincent, presented at UCF’s Showcase for Undergraduate Research this year. Shelly even won Life Science Judges’ Choice for her project! Shelly presented her project on smooth cordgrass restoration genetics. Bridget presented her work on Croaker population genetics. I had a good time hanging out with Knightro!

Congrats to Brittany Lebert (B.S.) and Daniel Volk (M.S.) for finishing their degrees! Daniel Volk finished his M.S. this November. Congrats to Brittany Lebert, a senior undergraduate in Hoffman Lab, for her 1st first author publication! Brittany, Sam Sanford and Levi Reisinger (all UCF Biology undergraduates) sequenced and characterized the genome of a new bacterial species as part of their coursework in Genomics Lab (BSC 4445C) with Drs.
