Any unspent Education & General (E&G) funds from the previous fiscal year1 becomes carryforward in the next fiscal year. This fiscal year (FY26) the colleges will only receive carryforward funds in protected categories (e.g. faculty start-up, trustee chair, reach for the stars, SIP, SEED grants, equipment grants – from OR). All other unspent funds will be returned to provost to invest in strategic initiatives.
We are working with the appropriate central office for the release of these protected funds. In the meantime, the budget analyst will provide a budget override to ensure continuity of operations.
