Kerstin Hamann

Dear Graduate Students,

It is my pleasure to welcome you as graduate students in the College of Sciences, an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and academic excellence. You are embarking on an exciting journey as you work toward a milestone in your life and career, and we are looking forward to supporting you along the way.

The College of Sciences (COS) is the largest college at UCF, spanning a wide range of disciplines across the natural, physical, mathematical, and social sciences as well as creative exploration through communication, media, and film. We offer graduate programs—certificate programs, Master’s degrees, and doctoral degrees—across all ten schools and departments in COS.

I’ve had the opportunity to work in various roles over more than three decades at UCF, and I continue to be motivated by the dedication of our faculty, who are experts in their respective fields, and inspired by the students as they discover their potential and apply that to meaningful work. We encourage you to leverage faculty knowledge in your classes and participate in the many learning and experiential opportunities here at COS. Many of our graduate students collaborate with faculty in research endeavors and creative activities, or learn from them as graduate teaching assistants, helping to deepen understanding and make meaningful contributions at UCF and beyond.

We are here to support you in your academic and career aspirations. The COS Office of Graduate Services is just one of the many UCF resources for graduate students. You may also tap into your program, the College of Graduate Studies, and other non-academic services offered by the university. Whether you are just beginning your journey, in the middle, or completing your graduate education, the COS Office of Graduate Services is here to assist you and help connect you to the resources you need to succeed.

I wish you all the best for your graduate career,

Kerstin Hamann, Ph.D.
