Jackie Chini

About Me: I earned my B.A. in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Sociology from Drew University (Madison, NJ) in 2006. I was drawn to the common goals of physics and sociology to explain and predict phenomena, which led me to pursue my graduate studies in physics education research. I earned my Ph.D. in Physics from Kansas State University (Manhattan, KS) in 2010 with N. Sanjay Rebello. I have been in a variety of positions at University of Central Florida (UCF, Orlando, FL) ever since! I am excited to start a tenure track position as an assistant professor at UCF in Fall 2015.

Interests: I love to be out in the Florida sun, whether running, paddleboarding or reading on the beach. I enjoy vegetarian cooking, vegan baking, coffee and craft beers and cocktails. I balance out my overexposure to college STEM majors by teaching preschoolers at my church.
