Professor co-edits new book on health communications

NSC Assistant Professor Dr. Ann Neville Miller recently co-edited a book titled Health Communication and Faith Communities with professor Donald L. Rubin.

The book provides a broad perspective on the domain of health communication and faith-based contexts and organizations.

While a large and growing body of literature addresses the intersection of health and religion/spirituality, this is the first book-length treatment addressing health messaging in, by, and through religiously identified groups. This volume provides a broad perspective on the entire domain of health communication and faith-based contexts and organizations. It draws on the expertise of researchers and practitioners from the fields of public health, pastoral case, medicine, religious and cultural studies, and health communication. Cases emerge from a variety of religious traditions, ethnicities, and nationalities.

Ann Neville Miller is an Assistant Professor in the Nicholson School of Communication with 15 years of experience teaching and researching in Africa. Her teaching interests include communication research methods, intercultural communication, health communication, persuasion, and interpersonal communication.
