UCF speech team completes first season

The UCF Speech Team, directed by Jerry Sublette, completed its first season of competition during the spring 2012 semester.

This was the first time that UCF has ever fielded a competitive speech team other than in debate. Beginning at mid-season in the forensics circuit, the team competed in four Florida tournaments as well as the National Forensics Tournament at Ohio University.The Speech Team is sponsored by the Nicholson School of Communication and is a multi-campus co-curricular activity.

Jerry is currently making plans for the 2012-13 season. Students interested in joining the team, or faculty/staff who have experience in individual events and would like tocontribute to the team effort, should contact Jerry at Jerry.Sublette@ucf.edu.
