UCF grad receives applied research award

Former NSC M.A. student, Elizabeth Minei,’09, who is now at the University of Oklahoma, and Ryan Bisel, University of Oklahoma, are the recipients of the 2011 Stanley L. Saxton Applied Research Award, sponsored by the Carl Couch Center for Social and Internet Research (www.cccsir.com).

They received this award on their paper “Negotiating the Meaning of Team Expertise: A Firefighter Team’s Epistemic Denial.” It was a paper based on ethnographic work that Minei did with the fire department.
