Professor awarded for contributions to science

A UCF professor has been named a fellow by one of the world’s largest and most prestigious scientific societies.

Charles H. Reilly, an industrial engineering professor, is the sixth UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science professor in two years to earn the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s recognition for scientifically or socially distinguished efforts to advance science or its applications.

Reilly was chosen because of his contributions to synthetic optimization and for leadership in industrial engineering education. He is the associate dean for Academic Affairs in UCF’s College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Reilly’s research focuses on generating and solving mathematical problems that help companies streamline their operations.
