Assistant Director of Alumni Relations joins COS team

Shaloni Prine, ’07, joined the College of Sciences last month as the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. 

After graduating from the AD-PR program in the Nicholson School of Communication, Prine worked for Ron Sachs Communications in their Orlando office. She handled multiple client accounts while providing strategic public relations counsel, and during which, Prine stayed connected to UCF as an active volunteer.

“I wanted to give back, so I connected with the UCF Alumni Association and began volunteering with the UCF Community Volunteers Alumni Chapter,” Prine said.

Her time at Ron Sachs Communications and her volunteer experience with UCF helped Prine discover her passions – community relations and event planning. After a year of supporting UCF in a volunteer role, Prine joined the alumni association in a professional alumni relations role in 2010.

“I have benefited from the networking opportunities the UCF Alumni Association offers so I know the potential that exists for our alumni,” Prine said.

Prine will plan and execute alumni outreach and engagement efforts for the College of Sciences. She will develop, implement and evaluate alumni programs that: strategically engage and provide tangible benefits to targeted college-based alumni populations, connect alumni with current students, and collaborate with the college community to increase COS alumni affinity and engagement.

In the short amount of time she has been with the College of Sciences, Prine has already helped Development Director, Ray Allen and Communications Specialist, Jerriann Sullivan with several projects. Prine has been a critical component in securing alumni to be featured in a new brochure for the Sociology Department.

Prine will work closely with the college’s administration and faculty to offer greater opportunities for college-based alumni engagement through special events, professional development, networking and corporate partnerships. She will also work with industry-specific professional organizations and alumni employers to increase alumni association outreach efforts.
