Communication grad inducted into the Hall of Fame

Heissam Jebailey, ’00, was selected as the 2012 Nicholson School of Communication Hall of Fame inductee. This honor recognizes esteemed NSC alumni for their career accomplishments and professional contributions to the university.

“I am honored and grateful for being inducted into the Nicholson School of Communication Hall of Fame. All the hard work during and after graduation and up until this point has completely paid off. With that said, I’ll never stop giving back to the school I came from,” said Jebailey.

The Hall of Fame induction took place on April 13 during the second annual COMM Day, sponsored by the Nicholson School of Communication and the Nicholson School of CommunicationAlumni Chapter. More than 150 students, faculty and alumni gathered for theevent that brings together industry professionals and students to share ideas and strategies to keep their skills current in the changing communication landscape.

Jebailey earned his bachelor’s degree in advertising-public relations from the University of Central Florida in 2000. An active part of the university community, Jebailey is a lifetime member of the UCF Alumni Association and serves on its board of directors. He is a member of International Student Services and UCF Foundation, and is an honorary member of Quotes, the Golden Key National Honor Society, and the President’s Medallion Society.

In his years as owner and publisher of the Central Florida Future, UCF’s independent student newspaper, Jebailey mentored and trained countless students for careers in media, media sales and publishing. Jebailey currently serves as managing partner of Jebden Inc., runs PressOnEvents.com and is a developer of two Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt Bars in Winter Park.
