COS honors alumni at UCF Black and Gold Gala

Celebrate the achievements of UCF alumni who have “Reached for the Stars” at this awards banquet. The evening includes a cocktail reception (open bar) and silent auction to benefit the UCF Alumni Trust Scholarship Fund from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner and awards presentation. Dress is cocktail style with black and gold being the preferred colors.

Cost is $70 per person. Corporate table sponsorships can be purchased for $800 and include a table for 10, table sign and recognition in event program. You can purchase tickets here.

Marla Weech, UCF NSC Alumni and News 13 anchor, will be emceeing the event. If you challenge people to name a legendary news icon in Central Florida, chances are you’ll hear this name: Marla Weech. Marla has been a fixture on Central Florida television since the 1980’s.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Marla started her television career by working in such markets as Fort Myers, Jacksonville, and Little Rock, Arkansas before making Orlando the center of her professional life. Marla’s commitment to local news is reflected in the numerous awards she has received, including those from the Associated Press, United Press International, the Mid-Florida Society for Professional Journalists, and recognition as a distinguished alumni by the UCF Nicholson School of Communication’s Hall of Fame.
