Annual Women of Distinction Mentoring Award

Dr. WrightDr. Chrysalis Wright wins the Annual Women of Distinction Mentoring Award given by the UCF Center for Success of Women Faculty.

This award recognizes Dr. Wright’s extensive mentorship activities. Dr. Wright started a highly successful regional campus psychology undergraduate research lab soon after joining the Psychology Department and Western Region at UCF in the fall of 2011. Students in her lab have completed Honors in the Major (HIM) theses, won scholarships, and the Burnett Research Scholars grant. Her students regularly present their research at student showcases at UCF and nationally. They also submit their work for publication and many have been accepted into graduate programs. Dr. Wright serves as HIM Coordinator for the Western Region and she regularly serves as HIM thesis Chair and on HIM Committees.

In 2012 Dr. Wright developed and coordinated the Western Region Undergraduate Showcase, an undergraduate showcase where students can present their research. She serves as a Faculty mentor for the Western Region’s Knights LIGHTS Mentoring Program, Faculty Adviser for the Western Region Psychology Club, and she provides an annual workshop on balancing college and family.
