Florida Research Consortium names Roger Pynn to Board of Directors
Roger Pynn, APR, CPRC, president of Curley & Pynn, ’73, has been named to the Florida Research Consortium (FRC) board of directors and will serve as chairman of its Communications Committee.
FRC is a statewide organization dedicated to strengthening Florida’s innovation economy by promoting research commercialization and the development of a skilled workforce. With more than 35 years of public relations experience, in his new role Pynn will work to raise the visibility of FRC and its initiatives.
“For more than a decade, I have worked with clients that seek to aide Florida’s business climate in technology, research and innovation,” said Pynn. “The challenges facing Florida as an innovation economy are fewer than in years past, but there is still a great amount of room for improvement. I am honored to work alongside colleagues in higher education, public and private sectors to promote innovation in Florida.”
Aside from his FRC duties, Pynn is also a director and member of the Executive Committee of The PRISM Project – a 10-county initiative to improve math and science education. He remains actively involved with his alma mater, the University of Central Florida, serving on the Board of Visitors of the Nicholson School of Communications and as chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the UCF College of Sciences.
