The India Center Sponsors Trip for Students

The India Center at UCF, housed in the Political Science Department in the College of Sciences, co-sponsored four undergraduate students to travel to India during summer 2017. The trip was organized by Phil Peters, Professor of Film and Animation in the College of Arts and Humanities. The four-week long trip to India was part of Peters’ Fulbright grant. The student researchers learned about Indian film production design during their visit and produced a feature length narrative film project to demonstrate the results of their research.

“The India Center is very pleased to support the student travel to India”, says Kerstin Hamann, Ph.D., Pegasus Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department, who is also co-Chair of the India Center together with John Bersia, Special Assistant to the President for Global Perspectives and Director of the Office of Global Perspectives. “This opportunity was a life-changing experience for the students and contributed to enhancing the understanding between the United States and India, which is one of the core missions of the India Center.”
