Mobile technologies and apps on campus
Journalism instructor Rick Brunson and Ryan Seilhamer, instructional designer for UCF’s Center For Distributed Learning, presented an interactive lecture, “Exploring Mobile Technologies and Apps on Campus,’’ at the EDUCAUSE regional conference in Tampa.
The hands-on lecture, during which participants were encouraged to actually use their smart phones during class, revealed strategies for integrating mobile devices and apps into courses and curriculum. Brunson and Seilhamer won the conference’s Highest Session Attendance Award for the popular lecture, which drew about 80 people – one-third of those attending the conference.
About 250 higher education IT professionals, educators and librarians from around the Southeast attended the conference. EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology.
