New Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Andrea Vieux

Dr. Andrea Vieux has recently joined the Department of Political Science at UCF.

Dr. Vieux graduated in May of 2010 with a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kansas. Her primary areas of study are American politics and public policy, with a focus on state and local politics, urban politics, political behavior, and K-12 education policy. She is particularly interested in educational alternatives and reforms, and the political behavior of young people. Currently, she is researching state educational policies such as charter school regulations and anti-bullying protections of LGBT youth.

Dr. Vieux teaches both online and face-to-face on the UCF main campus, as well as the Valencia West UCF regional campus. The courses she teaches include Metropolitan Politics and undergraduate research methods, and she is developing an undergraduate course on the Politics of Sports.
