Student Receives UCF McNair Graduate Fellowship

Incoming graduate student Shantel Campbell has been selected as a recipient of the UCF McNair Graduate Fellowship. Campbell is the first student from the Nicholson School of Communication to be selected by the Diversity Fellowships committee to receive the coveted award. In order to be eligible for the graduate fellowship, Campbell had to successfully complete the McNair Scholars program as an undergraduate student.

McNair Scholars participate in courses, seminars and workshops on topics related to graduate school preparation leading to a Ph.D., complete a paid research project under the guidance of a faculty mentor, and have the opportunity to present their research at local, regional and national conferences.

The two-year award pays an annual fall/spring stipend of $10,000 and offers a full-year tuition waiver.
