UCF Participates in 9th Annual NAMIWalk
NAMIWalks is the largest and most successful mental health awareness and fundraising event in America. Through these walks the organziation is changing the way Americans view persons with a mental illness and ensuring that help and hope are available for those in need. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), will be celelebrating its 9th Annual NAMI Greater Orlando 2013 Walk on Saturday, May 4 at Lake Lily in Maitland, Florida.
This year members of Dr. Bedwell’s research laboratory will be participating and the money they raise will go to the Orlando chapter of NAMI. The POMI Research Laboratory is housed in the UCF department of psychology and receives funding from the National Institute of Mental Health to investigate possible causes of schizophrenia-spectrum disorders and bipolar disorder.
