UCF student wins grant

Rachel Odom, a biology student, was awarded a $500 grant from the International Phycological Society (IPS) student grants committee for future research.

IPS was founded in 1960 and is dedicated to the development of phycology, the distribution of phycological information and promoting international cooperation among phycologists and phycological organizations.

The Society organizes the International Phycological Congresses at 4-yearly intervals. The next Congress, the tenth, will be held in Florida in 2013.
