Autumn Shackelford

Image of graduate student Autmn Shackelford Autumn is a 4th year Planetary Science Ph.D. student working with Dr. Kerri Donaldson Hanna and Dr. Christopher Bennett to simulate space weathering processes on airless bodies, with particular interests in the Moon and Mercury. She utilizes VNIR and TIR spectroscopy, as well as microscopy, to characterize the analogous materials she studies. Autumn is also interested in community outreach and science communication, and currently helps lead the Orlando branch of Astronomy on Tap.

Projects: Autumn currently works on the Space Weathering Environment for Exploring Planetary Surfaces (SWEEPS) and aims to use it for the study of space weathering of the Mercurian surface.
