The tragedy that occurred in Orlando on Sunday June 12th weighs heavy on our hearts. Now and forever, our lab stands with UCF and the Orlando community as a place of respect and love for all people. For information about campus resources and events, such as blood drives and vigils, […]
Dr. Lighthall proudly modeling her hospital gown before testing out the Orlando VA’s new 3 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging scanner.
Dr. Lighthall celebrated the end of the year with UCF’s new Neuroscience Alliance student organization. The event was hosted by Dr. Kimi Sugaya and offered a chance for undergraduates to directly connect with neuroscience faculty across different departments. Cheers to all our aspiring brain scientists at UCF!

First-year PhD student, Kylie Fernandez, presented her research at the Cognitive Neuroscience Society annual meeting in NYC. Her poster entitled, “Asymmetry in attention and memory while learning in gain versus loss domains”, presents work in collaboration with Dr. Camelia Kuhnen of the UNC Kenan–Flagler Business School.
MDNA ended the year with an exciting new seminar series that bridges the gaps between neuroscience disciplines. The event featured a welcome message from Dr. Lighthall (Seminar Coordinator), research presentations by Dr. Kiminobu Sugaya (MDNA Chair, Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences) and Dr. Jeffrey Bedwell (Psychology), and a social hour […]
