Biography

Professor McGuire joined UCF in 1972 from the Somerset County Child Guidance Center. He earned his Ph.D. from the George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Professor McGuire served as Chair of the Department of Psychology from 1995-2003. In August 2003, he became one of the Associate Deans in the College of Arts and Sciences. His major research interests have been in the clinical area including: ethics issues; ethics training; professional ethical decision-making; privacy, confidentiality and informed consent; group process issues; and sports psychology topics. In addition to his administrative role, he teaches a graduate course in Ethics & Professional Issues and continues to be active on thesis and dissertation committees.
