Biography
Dr. Mottarella is a Senior Lecturer and Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of career readiness, career counseling, and various clinical-focused courses. She also created and coordinates the Behavioral Forensics Certificate. She is currently the COS Faculty Fellow for Student Engagement and oversees the COS Student Ambassador program (link: https://sciences.ucf.edu/student-ambassador/). She recently ended a three-year term as Editor, and remains on the editorial board, of the NACADA Journal, the premiere journal for academic advising and student development research. While her primary focus is on teaching and mentoring, her research interests include career readiness and the scholarship of teaching and learning. During over 25 years at UCF, she has been a two-time recipient of the COS Faculty Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award, the Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year Award, and the University Faculty Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.
