Summer Grads Celebrate with COS

It’s that time of the year again! The College of Sciences and its academic departments and school hosted their traditional graduation reception for the Summer 2016 graduates. 

On Saturday, August 6, COS over 600 graduates walked across the commencement stage to receive their diplomas. Graduates and their family and faculty were then welcomed into the UCF Psychology building to celebrate the academic journey and achievements of the new UCF alumni. A live DJ played while guests enjoyed light refreshments. Graduates returned their regalia after making sure to take a photo with their favorite Knight – Knightro. The UCF College of Sciences Alumni Chapter was also present distributing information on how to stay connected. UCF Continuing Education additionally tabled at the event.

The day before commencement the College of Sciences also hosted a small pre-commencement celebration for its 21 Ph.D. students graduating this summer. The doctoral candidates celebrated with family and their academic advisers in the Physics Sciences Building on Friday, August 5. Each doctoral student was introduced to the group recognizing their thesis and adviser.
