Symposium on “The U.S. Constitution Confronting the 21st Century”

The Lou Frey Institute of Politics and Government, part of UCF’s Department of Political Science, will hold its Fall 2012 Symposium, “The U.S. Constitution Confronting the 21st Century,” on Constitution Day, September 17, in the Pegasus Ballroom.

The program begins at 9:15 a.m. on Monday morning with welcoming comments, and then Professor Nadine Strossen, past president of the ACLU, discussing the question of privacy, governmental power and personal identity in the post-9-11 world. The event continues throughout the day with noted commentators, academics and policy experts.

Professors Jonathan Turley and Jeffrey Rosen, both of the George Washington University School of Law, will address the gathering at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., respectively.

All events are free and open to the public. Pre-registration, a link for which is available at www.loufrey.org, is encouraged.
