Kerry Martin earns accreditation in public relations
UCF Alumna Kerry Martin, ’07, has joined the ranks of public relations practitioners who have achieved one of the highest credentials of the profession, the professional distinction of being “Accredited in Public Relations” or APR.
Martin, a communications strategists at Curley & Pynn, recently completed the APR program, which tested her knowledge of communications theory and its application, strategic planning and professional ethics. The APR designation is awarded by the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), a consortium of nine professional communication organizations that directs this competency certification program.
The APR credential recognizes a commitment to public relations and ethical practices in the profession. Candidates must demonstrate broad knowledge, strategic perspective and sound professional judgment
Martin has worked with Curley & Pynn for more than five years and manages the firm’s work for the Florida High Tech Corridor Council, the University of Central Florida and community architectural firm ACi. Martin is a very active member of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Orlando Chapter, currently serving as its assistant treasurer and having served as the Image Awards vice president. Martin is also active in Summit Church as a volunteer.
