COS Celebrates 2017 Outstanding AlumKnights

The College of Sciences at the University of Central Florida honored 10 of its exceptional alumni at the 2017 Outstanding AlumKnights awards ceremony.

The third annual event was held on Thursday, March 2 in the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center at UCF.

75 alumni, faculty, and their guests attended the event to celebrate the graduates nominated from each department and school of the college.

An alumnus or alumna from each of the 10 departments and school were nominated to receive the esteemed award. Each nominee was recognized for distinguished professional achievement, exceptional community service in support of the university, and a reflection of the college’s mission.

Previous Professional Achievement awardees were also recognized at the event with a special pinning ceremony. In previous years, Professional Achievement awardees were honored at the UCF Alumni Association’s Black & Gold Gala, an event that has since been discontinued. Michael Johnson, Ph.D., dean of the College of Sciences, thanked the awardees for their continued support of the university and college.

Guests enjoyed food and drink at the event as each department chair or representative presented their Outstanding AlumKnight with an award.
