Dr. Turcu Selected as Faculty Fellow at the Center for Success of Women Faculty
Dr. Anca Turcu, from the Department of Political Science, was recently selected as a Center for Success of Women Faculty Fellow. She will assist and support the Center in its mission to provide resources that help faculty balance life and work. Dr. Turcu will contribute her research on the ‘Career-Life Balance of Dual Career Couples’. In the past decade, increased labor mobility and a higher number of women graduating with doctoral degrees has meant that more faculty members have become part of long distance, dual career families. Dr. Turcu will plan two workshops that will discuss: demographic trends; the phenomenon’s professional and personal impact on faculty; and will explore initiatives that can help faculty balance life and work in these circumstances. Dr. Turcu hopes to contribute her findings to the CSWF website and to present on this topic at the 2014 UCF Summer Faculty Conference.
